CATFISH

PEOPLE BE FAKING WHO THEY ARE ONLINE

LOL OH YA

Be very weary of people online. They use fake photos and pretend to be who they are not. This is not a joke, before you get too close to someone outside of the net, verify who they are, do not get scammed.

Guy taking a pic...

Ever had a guy ask you to take a pic of him?

I'm not being sexist or anything but this is awkward. Even if you really wanna take a pic as a guy, it just fells weird. Like you gonna walk up to a random dude and be like "Yo dawg, snap a shot of me" lol Nah...

Sbusiso Dlomo ... Phenyo Was Right

Celebrities tend to belittle the very hands that feed them...

So on Friday 26 July I went to PMB for the KZN young achievers awards 2013. Pretty cool event at the Protea Hotel in PMB. I mean, I was formal for the first time in years, really wanted to have an awesome night with my colleagues.

So to cut everything short, Menzi "Ngubs" Ngubane was there. Now for those who don't know, that's "Sbusiso Dlomo" from Generations. I grew up watching this guy act, I've always loved his work. From his role as "Cijimpi" in 'Hlala kwabafileyo', to "Mazwi" in that show I can't remember the title. I don't watch Generations, but I really respect this guys talent. So when I saw he was there, I was honoured to share the venue with one of SA's best actors.

After the award ceremony, my colleagues where on our way out when we spotted him sitting in a boardroom. So my colleagues thought to themselves, hey look a photo with this guy would be cool. So me being the only guy in my team, they turn to me and ask me to kindly request a pic with him. I walk into the room, and kindly thank the hose, who was there with him, for a great evening. Then I turn to him, Menzi that is. I humbly tell him that my colleagues are big fans and they would like to take a picture with him....

He didn't even look my way, with a toothpick in his mouth and the most direspectful and condescending of tones he responds "tell them I said NO". All this while he is picking his teeth... :(
The people he was sitting with on the table burst out laughing, and one of them commented "haai ngyakvuma". This was just messed up, I felt I was disrespected unneccesarily. This is what you get for showing someone that you think they are cool, that you would like to capture a moment next to, for good memories. Instead you get this, well done South African Celebrity, exemplary behaviour!

Like he can say NO that's cool. If he doesn't wanna take a pic I won't be mad. But why the arrogance, the cockiness and down right crappy attitude. Maybe its a Generations thing, I told mom about this and she says that "Khethiwe" did the same thing in Mega City to some ladies... their response was "weeh heeh NX uyazitshela kanti, okokqala umumbu njengaku TV even in real life"

I just thought I'd share how I was treated by someone I always looked up to. I guess people are nicer on TV and when they meet people in public, but when It's just them and their buddies, the A**hole comes out. I guess he was just being cool to his friends by showing that he can treat his fans like s**t and get away with it. We shall never know

Episode 01 I'm the sheet

You have dreams, are you chasing them?

What are you really doing about your dreams???

"We all have those 'one day thoughts n vision ' like one day I'll drive a Lamborghini Cabrera, own a mansion etc.The questions is usuwenzen' namhlanje ngalokho? Izolo wenzen? Ksasa uzokwenza? In order to drive that car, own that mansion...Whatever you do today determines your future!" - Andile Cele (@Ady_Cele)

Reading this status update on Facebook inspired me to write this post. The question posed by this status is one that we must all ask ourselves on a daily basis, if not, we are failing to do the most basic act of motivation.

The thing about the average person is we all dream, we all want it all, and we all believe we deserve it all. But how many of us are actually going out and chasing it. I mean we all know rags to riches stories of people who came from nothing at all to all they ever dreamed of. I mean in my hood there's a dude who was a security guard and earning next to nothing. He decided to chase his dream of living in a house and not a shack and living a dignified life, so he got himself a code 14 drivers license and became a truck driver. Now he's getting married, built himself a house and has made it in his terms. We on the other hand have all the resources, yet we chill and tweet all day. Update statuses about the things we dream of, yet do nothing in the real world.

I'm lucky enough to have been at the bottom of MY scale in life and managed to lift myself up, this has really opened my eyes. I'm not perfect, I do also slack a bit, but I see when I'm falling off and make some necessary sometimes tough decisions. It's all for the greater good. One thing I can say is that laziness is an epidemic in this country, it has nullified a lot of potential in many people. Small steps equal a long distance.

Instant gratification...A MYTH :O

We all know the Myth of instant gratification, whether by name or not. The world is not a machine, you don't just send a command like "I'm a millionaire" and suddenly you're rich. Shiiiiiiii... If that was the case money would run out lol You gotta work and be patient. Patience is the quality of Gods - KingNzumbi lol I really do believe this. People are just so impatient it's amazing. Like there are things that will tick you off, fair enough. But when it comes to your success, patience is the secret ingredient. There are scams out here, people get cheated, conned and lose all they ever had, because they want INSTANT GRATIFICATION. They want to take the easy way, the shortcut. you can't expect to do none of the work and get all of the glory.

Do something now, what are you waiting for?

On the real, what did you do yesterday or today to get closer to your dreams? Do you even have them clearly defined in your head or on paper, that's the bigger question. You cannot say you have a dream to become a famous actor/actress and yet you're not even part of a drama club. That's like saying you're a peanut butter addict and you're allergic to peanuts :-/ see, it doesn't add up.

You gotta get up, make a plan and work towards it. Noone cares about your success as much as you SHOULD, DO YOU? a lot of people dream but never do. That's one of the reasons people never live their dreams. It will not happen over night, that's the first thing you need to come to terms with. Before I start getting carried away, let me leave you with a thought. If you were asked what have you done to get closer to your dreams, what would your answer be? Now ask yourself if that's the most and best you can do.

Happiness is a Choice

Happiness is a choice - The most important thing I've learnt in my life. It really did change my life forever.

I used to be depressed :-/ That shit sucked. Everything just looked like it wasn't working out yo! life was a bitch, a nasty skank I tell you. I mean when you're flat broke and there's really no light that you see that will shine soon, you don't really feel like smiling.

Then upon many hours of contemplation and sleepless nights, at times with beer, I decided to put this Law of attraction to the test. I decided that I will change the way I think and just fill my head with some happy thoughts like Peter Pan and hope I fly away. It was August 2010 if I'm not mistaken.

I mean at first it seemed silly. I was broke, dropped out of Technikon, unemployed and has spent 18 months missing my 3 front teeth, which completely crushed my sense of being and self-confidence. But I knew one thing, sometimes you just gotta fake it till you make it, and I was faced with a decision here to do just that.

I had no reason, none whatsoever to be happy. But I told myself that Happiness is a choice, My choice. I didn't go around smiling, I simply accepted deep inside that I was happy and content with my circumstances since I was partly to blame for everything, but of course I was solely responsible for everything in my life, but like most people, I was not man enough to admit to myself. With that said, I simply accepted that shit is the way it is, all I could do was try to improve shit. Otherwise, sitting around feeling sad for myself was not doing me any good really. I mean, I had access to information, balls and a brain, what more can you ever need to succeed.

A new chapter in the book of B

And so I put my cigarette out and got up, time for a new me. I smiled a little inside and carried on with my day as usual. Nothing changed really, I still looked trashy lol was still broke BUT I felt good :) For the the first time in almost 3 years I felt good :) I had forgotten what It was like to feel that way, I mean I was either annoyed, sad or drunk for 3 years.

Believe it or not, in about 2 months things started changing. I felt more confident about everything, I looked a little better, not dashing lol but better and I started doing better things. November that year I did something crazy, I attracted a holiday job. Well I actually attracted 2 pairs of sneakers, I told myself I'll get 2 pairs of sneakers no matter what. 2 days later I received a call from a friend that there was a vacancy at the clothing shop he worked for up in Richards bay, and I couldn't say no. At the end of it all I had 2 brand new sneakers; Hahaha Funny enough as I type this shit I'm wearing one of them lol. This alone was enough proof for me. The proof I needed in order to start believing and to apply my new found faith diligently.

The saga continues

That was the beginning of the new way of life, I new I had struck gold here. Gold that lived in me, noone could steal it, noone could fuck with is in any way. When I came back to Durban I had a new perspective yo!

I could go on forever and I will, but in a book. I promise I'll write a freaking book about my little experience, basically the idea is simple.

When you choose happiness, the universe is obliged to comply with your choice. Because if you choose to be happy inside, and the universe outside creates sadness, that doesn't make sense. What is inside must match what is outside... Simple really. Remember that noone can change what you think inside, only you can.

For now I'll leave it at that :)
